Improving Eyesight Naturally

I first learned about improving eyesight naturally while listening to an NLP lecture by Richard Bandler. He mentioned improving eyesight naturally was very possible through hipnosis. He also mentioned the book “Better Eyesight Without Glasses.” That was the beginning of my path to improving my eyesight naturally.

Well, I didn't learn hypnosis, so I didn't start out improving my eyesight like that. And in the end the exercises in “Better Eyesight Without Glasses” were too frustrating for me, as they were very slow, so I didn't follow through with them. But a seed of curiosity and desire was planted in me that continues to this day.

I can't say improving my eyesight has worked as well as I'd like. I haven't found a way that has really felt good for me – mostly because I haven't been bothered enough to put in the effort. I know now that improving your eyesight naturally can bring almost anyone to perfect eyesight, if they work at it enough. I'm still searching for an easier way, though I think in the end I'll just use the technique which I mention later in this article and just put in more effort. Call it a time investment.

Naturally, I can’t say  I’m an expert on natural eyesight improvement methods. I wish I could say what worked for me, but I can’t, not totally. In this article I can say, however, the things I’ve found on my search so far.

The Principles For Improving Eyesight Naturally

The eye is said by opticians to be inflexible. When it is deformed, it is supposed to remain that way forever, meaning that correction with glasses or costly laser surgery becomes necessary.

As explained in “Better Eyesight Without Glasses”, however, the eye is flexible and actually changes its shape a lot: hour to hour, and even minute to minute. If you think about it, it's as you'd expect for an organ that's made mostly of water and has a jelly-like consistency.

The eye actually changes shape with the help of its surrounding muscles to focus on nearer or farther points. Problems with eyesight are often caused by unnatural uses of the eye – such as for reading books or looking at computer screens – which train it to focus at an unusually close point. The eye basically loses its muscle tone for stretching in a certain way and, naturally, retraining becomes necessary to improve eyesight.

You know the stereotype of the bookworm who has glasses? – it's a stereotype for a reason. Nowadays almost all of us use our eyes in very different ways to how they were designed to be used, and need to take extra care of them.

Improving Eyesight By Living Naturally

The final cure would be to have a permanent lifestyle which included minimal focus on near objects and plenty of focus into the distance, as we would have done in the rainforest where we evolved. Sports such as tennis or badminton could help, as would living in natural environments which have peaceful things to draw the eye.

Living “100% naturally in all ways” may be impractical, so I'm wondering if some of us will need to use a certain amount of exercises for improving eyesight all our lives. Still, we can work on improving the way we use our eyes as much as possible and some lifestyle changes are practical to implement.

Pinhole Glasses For Improving Eysight Naturally

Pinhole glasses are my current favourite method of improving eyesight naturally, and the one which I want to recommend to you.

I bought a cheap pair of pinhole glasses from ebay a few weeks ago and gave them a try. Pinhole glasses are glasses which are made of plastic with small (“pin”) holes in it, which you see through. The idea is that the holes force you to recieve only images coming straight on into your eyes, which allows them to relax considerably.

My personal experience is that after only a shortish time using them my eyesight has been improving considerably. I haven’t had the will to use them enough to completely improve my eyesight until now, though I’ll admit that I was a little uninformed about how to use them.

Before, I thought I should just wear them when I went outside and looked into the distance, but doing research for this article I found out that it’s best to use them when working on the computer, watching TV or reading books. So I’m trying that now and I’m thinking perhaps it’ll be easier. Naturally, you don’t have to worry about people looking at you wierd when you’re using them at home, and it’s much easier to make a habit of putting them on whenever you sit down at the computer.

I’ll definitely update this article if I have some results to report, but I think that I can be sure enough by now, anyway, that pinhole glasses work. In fact, I think that they are probably one of the best methods for improving eyesight naturally. I’d recommend them to the average lazy person who wants to know how to improve their eyesight without gruelling exercises. I’d also recommend you read “Better Eyesight Without Glasses”, though mainly for interest and inspiration as the exercises that are recommended are pretty tough to follow.
