Is Eating Meat Healthy?

I have been a vegan for a long time and for a reason: all my experience, intution and research have pointed towards eating meat being unhealthy. My own experience is hard to deny: after 10 years of being constantly sick my health began to take a turn for the better after going vegan. However, some people have said that veganism doesn’t work for them, and that not all people have the same needs, health-wise. (Photo credit: Eating Meat)

I would agree to an extent but wouldn’t go so far as to say that eating meat is healthy.

The Facts About Meat Eating

The China Study” is a book that presents a very clear case for why meat eating isn’t healthy for humans. In one of the studies mentioned, rats (a mainly herbivorous animal) were fed a poison which caused them to aquire cancer. From then on, they were fed diets containing various amounts of animal protein. It was possible to literally “turn on or off” the cancer by varying the rat’s meat intake.

Another disease mentioned is heart disease. It’s well known that it’s possible to induce heart disease in rats by feeding them ultra high levels of saturated fat and colesterol (nutrients only found in notable quantities in animal foods). What’s interesting, however, is that if you do the same thing to dogs, which are mainly carnivorous animals, they do not develop heart disease. Ever. No matter how much of these nutrients were given.

What about humans? Well, as shown by the Dr. Esselstein (as mentioned in “The China Study”), humans can reverse heart disease in practically 100% of cases with a low fat, vegan diet.

Besides these studies there are studies in basically every area of human health that show that eating meat is not healthy.

The case seems clear-cut. Animals which were made to eat meat don’t get sick when eating meat, while humans do. Humans are not designed to eat meat.

People Who Feel The Need To Eat Meat

Some people say that they lose energy when they aren’t eating meat regularly or that they become sick.

It is true that some people seem to need to eat meat, though they are few and the case may not seem as clear as it appears.

For instance, the nocibo effect may have a large part of this. “Nocebo” means “negative placebo” and means that someone causes themselves to become sick by believing that they will become sick.

The idea of the sick or weak vegan is so ingrained in Western society that many people subconsciously or consciously expect themselves to get sick when they go vegan. They might to it as a test or intentionally to prove the concept wrong, and sick is what they’ll get.

The other obvious factor is that many people just don’t do the vegan diet right. They might fail to eat enough of the right foods (carbohydrates particularly) thinking that they need to focus on protein foods or that veganism involves eating just fruit and vegetables. Or they might accidentally favour a food they are intolerant to by cutting out meat eating. Particular factors to keep in mind may be over reliance on wheat and soy – often problem foods.

Getting sick or not feeling well could be detox symptoms as well. It’s only natural that for the first month or two you experience perhaps a cold or a flu or some down days. This is the body bringing the stored toxins to the bloodstream so that they can be eliminated. When they are still in the bloodstream, you may experience symptoms.

Finally this could be a vibrational thing. Meat is a very low vibration food, not least because of the fear and suffering the animals experienced right before they died. This means that your vibration is brought down by it, and if you are unwilling or unable to raise your vibration, you may not be able to give up eating meat.

“Vibration” refers to the positive or negative vibes or emotions that run through your system. As already mentioned fear is a low or negative vibration. Love and peace are high vibrations. Meat eaters are more likely to resonate in fear or anger than in love or peace.

Someone who uses fear to motivate themselves, for instance, may find that they lose energy when they give up eating meat. This is because they don’t know how to motivate themselves with higher vibrations. These people may experience a loss of wellbeing before finding a greater wellbeing than ever before in the vegan diet – if they succeed in following it.

If someone is very attached to negative energy, they will not desire to follow the vegan diet. They may even create a sickness subconsciously so that they are unable.

Meat Eating Is Not Healthy

The facts show: meat eating is not healthy. So does my experience, and if you do a test with an open mind, it’s likely your experience will show this too. If it doesn’t to start with, give it some good research before discarding the idea of the vegan diet entirely. There are many possible blocks to eating a healthy diet which may need to be troubleshooted. If all else fails, repeated fasts to purify your body and vibration will most likely succeed.

Great information... until now I had not heard of the term "vibration" but definitely agree! I am now a vegetarian and hope to follow a vegan diet in the future.

This is another great article of yours. i believe another reason some people feel they will not survive without meat is because they are addicted to it and so they have severe withdrawal symptoms like people who are addicted to alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. This is the first I read about vibration as well as positive and negative energy, but I agree with your other points in favor of not eating meat.
